My Mother-in-Law to 17 additional people invited to the birthday party for my son?
My son is turning 1 and we were going to do something very small family (immediate and grandparents). We will bring a cake to my in laws house from her house is bigger than ours and can accommodate the group. Now receives an email from my MIL saying that expanded the guest list and there are 17 more people coming … and I asked what food I intend to serve! We were planning to have something big for the side of my husband because we have to have something big for me too, and simply too many people. We do not have the finances of a major party – nontheless of 2 parts! Now what do I do? I have to calm down because I'm so angry that she did it without consulting me.
Just tell her that you did not want a big party this time, he is only one for goodness sake! Just stay calm and tell them simply will not work this time. Make sure your husband is there to help, he may be able to help him see reason for it, too. And it is not necessary to explain why you do not want something bigger (ie disregarding the finances!)
