Fuel prices in the United Kingdom would be the cheapest in Western Europe, except for taxes piled on top by the government, according to figures revealed by a British Business Secretary John Hutton.
The report, published last month, shows that Britain has the cheapest diesel in Western Europe, after excluding taxes, unleaded petrol is the second lowest.
The revelations have undermined supply government to avoid the culture calls for action to alleviate the excessive fuel prices to blame rising oil costs.
More than seventy percent of the price paid at the pump made by fuel taxes and sales tax (VAT), the factors under the direct control of the government could considerably alleviate the burden they face more and more car users and carriers.
While the fuel tax has been frozen in recent years the government has really benefited from additional income tax on the price increase recently.
In response to mounting criticism, Finance Minister Alistair Darling said recently that the future increase of 2 pounds per gallon in fuel taxes provided for October will be postponed.
However, drivers also face increases in road tax stinging end of this year are still upset Mr Darling did not offer to return at least the benefits of tax refund the government for fuel, through failures.
Carriers requested at least 25 pounds per liter reduction, arguing that higher transportation costs contribute to other economic problems and food prices.
The AA, the organization's main engine of Britain, has also joined the fray by asking the fuel tax to be published in the stations so that drivers can see exactly how much was paid to the Treasury.
This plan may be sustained fuel retailers, who in turn have been the target of criticism about rising prices, although the proportion of fuel cost profit taking is low in regard to government involvement.
As a new political season looms, the cost of the engine is set to stay on the public agenda. The government's strategy is to blame global factors for high prices, while Pocketing a massive tax take has probably moves no responsibility.
With popularity at the moment seems to be plummeting, how long the government can afford to delay decisively the problem of excessive fuel prices?

What is the perception of engineering students from the United States by major business schools in Europe?
I plan to participate an MBA program in Europe, focusing on entrepreneurship. I have a degree in mechanical engineering from the University Michigan, and finishing my master's University of Notre Dame while working full time in an aerospace company and research university. My experience ranges from engineering to the project engineer, lead designer to systems engineer. (2 years and +) My biggest concern is the lack of finance, accounting, marketing, and management experience. What is the perception of students Engineering of the United States by major business schools in Europe? With my experience (2-3 years experience), is easier to enter a MBA program in Europe or the United States?
In fact, there are some advantages to a "foreign" MBA. Depending on the nation, you may have the advantage multi-language skills. You would be an ideal candidate for international management. will add a level of diversity for some companies. Hope this helps!
