West Point is there to educate and train cadets are commissioned as officers in the U.S. Army after graduation. The commitment is for a total of 8, 5 of which are in active service and 3 in reserve, if you decide not to continue in active service. Some graduates may choose very little the beginning of other services, especially when one parent had a career in another department.
The basic options for military service are choice of branch of service. You decided that at the beginning of your senior year. What are your career options in the army? After graduate of West Point, will be released in one of the various branches of the military. You may want a branch, as the fight against weapons of infantry, Artillery, Armor, Air Defense Artillery, Aviation or Combat Engineers. You can also choose a branch of combat support as a signal, police military, chemical, or military intelligence.
You may also want to choose one of the branches of support services such as fighting the Ordinance, Quartermaster, Transportation, Adjutant General or Finance. Opportunities are also available for the Unit of medical service or the Judge Advocate General Corps late in his career in the service. You'll gain access to positions of increased responsibility in every branch on the basis of their abilities.
West Point is looking for well rounded young men and women who want to serve as officers in the United States Army. I mean well-rounded students with good, good athletes and good leaders. The emphasis is on service in the military instead of education at the university.
Now, to answer your specific questions. The officers serve as leaders of the wonderful young men and women in our military today. The army is organized into service industries that are directly involved in the first line (infantry, armor, artillery, etc.) or acting in supporting roles (signal, artifacts, intelligence, aviation, etc.) I would go to the website page and checking the Army of land that works well.
In terms of percentage rates for West Point, there are two interesting issues. The first is the acceptance rate of offers of admission. In recent years (since 9 / 11) This rate remained stable at around 85%. This is the highest acceptance rate of any college or university in the country, beat Harvard, Princeton and all the rest. It said that those who apply to West Point know what they are doing and very serious.
The interest rate seconds is the graduation rate. In recent years, the graduation rate remained stable between 75% and 80% of those entering graduate in four years. The national average is 50% in six years.
If you choose not to remain outside its five years of active engagement of destination in the world is open to you. Experienced young army officers are in great demand around our company and have no problems supporting themselves or their families.
Finally, to answer your question about the possibility of playing a professional sports after graduation. The Department of Defense has recently adopted a policy where a small number of graduates Academy of services (and not just at West Point) that will be published at the beginning of his active service obligation to play professional sports. They must pay the cost of their education (several hundreds of thousands of $ $) and serve in the recruitment of the Army Reserve in an office, but today it is a viable option for elite athletes.
If you work for what you want, you'll have a day and when it does you look in back during their days at West Point and thank them for giving you change into something better to do something better with your life.

Army seeks to move the SCO.?
Hi all. I am currently a college senior graduates in May with a degree economy in 4 years with a GPA of 3.6 and a business minor with a 3.9 GPA. I am interested in the application of the Army SCO wishes to be plugged into the infantry or the finance bodies. My problem is that I have a DWI in December, but has not yet been resolved. I also received a few tickets over the years of stupid things, like failure to a complete stop, so I wonder what my chances are realistic for admission to the SCO? I was also a volunteer EMT before transferring to the school of my 4 years. So I have had no problems in addition to CFA and I'm 22. Thank you all.
I used to be a recruiter in the Army and I can tell you is waivorable CFA and you have to repeat and having to settle before entering the army. All fines and restitution to pay. No entries mean nothing if they are outstanding. I tell you that. If they decide to unite to become an officer and your on your way as soon as DWI is resolved then it is preferable to set a better example. A CFA is something that staff should receive and should not frown on it. You better change your attitude, because now their sub-standard and is likely to get someone killed in the infantry that the attitude of the poor.
